Suspended Substrate

Through the use of a photo-etched, copper clad substrate, Suspended Substrate Filters utilize air as the dielectric. The result is a filter capable of producing wide passbands and faster roll-off of stopbands. The printed circuit technology used in our Suspended Substrate Filters also supports complex mechanical configurations by allowing other structures to be printed on the suspended substrate, including Combline Filters, Interdigital Filters, Hairpin Filters and Bandstop (Notch) Filters. Highpass and lowpass Suspended Substrate Filters can also be interconnected to create broadband bandpass filters or diplexers. The durable construction of the Suspended Substrate Filter can be customized to meet all relevant military specifications, including those for vibration, since the interior walls in the housing are designed to hold the circuit and prevent movement.

MPG has a lengthy history in innovating microwave filters, and the Suspended Substrate line is no exception. We employ our engineering proficiency to create an environmentally flexible alternative to traditional broadband component filters and multiplexers.

Since the filter characteristics are determined solely by the mechanical accuracy of the housing and the printed circuit board, excellent reproducibility can be achieved by using a suspended substrate approach.

Frequency: L band, S band, C band, X band, Ku band, K band, Ka band and V band from 1 to 120 GHz.

Features: Suspended Substrate Filters are available in bandwidths from 50% to 100% and offer a Q range of 250 to 750 in 3 to 11 sections. Connectorized mounts are available. Suspended substrate filters are manufactured in bandpass, band reject, bandpass, high pass, low pass, diplexer and multiplexer designs.
